There is no film on the market that will provide privacy day and night from only one side of the glass.
A mirror privacy film can provide this solution, but ONLY under certain conditions. One side of the glass has to be considerably lighter than the other. For example, during daytime when your room is darker than outside, you can see out but passersby will not see in because of a mirror effect. But at night when your room is lighter than outside, the effect effect will be reversed.
You can use a partial obscure Window Film. Some areas are clear, some are frosted. This will not create total privacy, but will deter onlookers as they shall have to get close to the glass to see through.
It is safe to use in bathrooms but recommend you to avoid direct water or heat for durability. For example, if you want to apply on shower booth, put the film outside of the glass.
If you follow our application instructions which come with your order, you can apply it bubble free like a professional. Don’t worry. Most of our customers will put the film up themselves. It is so much easier to apply than you think! Because you need to wet the sticky side of the film and the glass with soapy water, you have plenty of opportunity to position the film exactly where you want it, and reposition it even if necessary before it dries. We get regular feedback from customers telling us how simple it is. You can also check YouTube for videos on “how to apply window film”.
Sorry but custom cutting is not available. The minimum order is 1m long and you can add by 1m by increasing quantities.
For example, if you need a 5m roll, please buy 5 quantities and combine the postage.
If you are renting, it is recommend using “static cling” film which does not use adhesive at all.
or you can use removable window film which use “removable adhesive” and it is easier to remove than the permanent one.
Removing window film depends on how long the film has been on the glass, and the type of film that was used.
Typically, films are either made using PVC or PET.
PVC is a soft material which can be reheated using a hair dryer and peeled off the glass with a glass scraper. Any glue residue can be removed with soapy water and a scraper.
PET is a brittle material widely used for solar and safety film, and might be made of layers of metalized material. To remove this type of film, use a wide glass scraper and lubricate with soapy water to remove the film.
As a rule, old PET film is more difficult to remove than PVC film.
For large panes, it is best to first score the film into strips with a sharp knife. This means that you can tackle it in manageable pieces.
Choose the correct vinyl type for your project. Our default vinyl for indoor walls is matte vinyl.
Matte vinyl was originally developed for indoor and short-term outdoor applications up to 3 years. This vinyl can easily be removed from the surface when information needed to be changed and replaced with new text.
Our default vinyl for indoor decal is matte finish for the following reasons:
It may not adhere well to certain types of textured walls. It should work ok on knock-down or orange peel texture, but doesn't work well for finely textured walls or the hill-and-valley texture of older homes. It also doesn't adhere very well to satin paint and some types of highly glazed tiles.
At times, glossy vinyl will be recommended for indoor use for the following reasons:
There are a few reasons it may not be sticking.
If your paint finish is satin or high gloss, if the paint is "Teflon", "silicone" or similar additives to make them "wash and wear", the removable matt vinyl may not stick well. Use more pressure and hold down the decal with your finger as you pull off the transfer tape. In this case, glossy vinyl which uses permanent adhesive, works better than matte vinyl.
If you have recently repainted the wall, you need to wait about six weeks, especially in winter as paint drying time increases, before you can put anything on to the surface.
Your wall texture may be too bumpy, not allowing the vinyl very much "surface space" for adherence. Avoid handing stickers. Or occasionally the stickers are not pressed on hard enough.
We make decals in most expensive vinyl material with latest machines. It may look similar on screen but you can tell the difference from their feedbacks and time will prove it.
All decals, excluding some OEM products, are made-to-order by us and custom sizes are available on quote. Custom orders are also generally processed and posted in 1-2 working days after confirming your payment but if you require it urgently, please contact us first to ensure we can meet your timeframe.
When placing your order, please choose style, size and colour you’d like. If no option is specified, we will send the decal in the default style, color and size. We can also change to your custom size. Please contact us for a quote. The price is usually same to the next larger size.
No, when you pull the decal off of another surface, it will stretch, skew, and usually break into pieces. Furthermore, the decal will no longer be perfectly spaced and straight.
Please email us the details, references, size and colour and your idea for a quote. We will always send an artwork back to you for your approval before we cut your quote.
No, vinyl decals are cut from a vinyl sheet and held in position using backing paper and application tape, both of which are discarded in the application process. Nothing but your lettering will remain once applied.
They are not guaranteed to be to scale. Be sure to check measurements to make sure this is the size you want.
No. Unfortunately it is hard to show accurate colors due to the varying differences of all our customers' monitors.
You would use paint with a stencil to create your lettering on a wall. Most people prefer vinyl transfers because they're easier to apply and remove.
Monograms are personalized a motif consisting of one or more letters and used as recognizable symbols or logos. Monograms are purely a design aesthetic and therefore, there are no rules. It’s really up to you and what you think looks good.
The followings are just some useful tips which are widely used these days.
Have you seen cakes, towels and bathrobes, etc.... married couples get monogramed initials? Your favorite place to see monograms used will be probably at weddings. If you receive monogrammed gifts, it actually means more to you that the monograms are there than what they look like. The fact that the items have your initials on them shows that the person giving the gift not only picked it out with you in mind specially, but that they didn't wait until the last minute and just randomly pluck an item off of a shelf somewhere for you.
One letter - It can symbolize the first letter of a couples or families last name.
Two letters - They can symbolize two persons’ first names.
Three letters - They can stand for or a couples first and last names. For weddings, usually the order is like this:
1. First initial is woman's first name initial
2. Middle initial is initial of couples last name
3. Last initial is man's first name initial
One letter - It is usually the first letter of the person’s first name or last name.
Two letters - They can symbolize person’s first and last name.
Three letters – It can be person’s first, middle, and last names. Or in case of first, last and middle name sequence, the person’s last name is larger and placed in the center.
Our Peel & Stick vinyl stickers are full/multiple/mono colour-printed on durable white or clear vinyl. Sometimes they have white or clear edges in case of complex or small designs. They are one of the most ever popular ways of decorating walls at a small cost because they are factory made.
Walls and widows and anywhere the surface is reasonably smooth.
Decorate homes, offices, schools and anywhere you can imagine decorating or hiding defective areas. It is much more economical, easy and fun than paint, wallpaper or stencils.
Please be sure to test for the delicate areas, such as old painted walls, before application.
Get tired? Time to change? Simply peel up an edge and slowly peel straight back, not up. If you are removing it from a delicate surface, a hair dryer will be helpful. It will soften it up and make the removal easier. Any adhesive leftovers can be cleaned off with water in case of eco-friendly vinyl or turpentine or an alcohol-based solvent.
Where applicable, the stickers are coded with letters making it clear which pieces are to be applied first, for instance, A, B then C... and so on. It also indicates which sections joins together, for instance, A to A, B to B and so on. Where there is no order, always apply the main piece first, moving on to the smaller pieces later.
Peel & Stickers are printed on white or clear vinyl, and then edges are cut by computer. Some small and thin parts have clear or white edges. They can express many colours in a sticker while the printed colour also may peel off or fade as time goes on.
Vinyl decals are not printed but just cut from Vinyl so there are no white or clear edges. They are more durable than Peel & Stick stickers.
Most of peel & stick stickers are factory made so they are cheaper in cost while most of the Vinyl decals are made to order.
A snap-off cutter, a ruler, a measuring tape, a pencil and a plastic squeegee/scraper will be required. You can buy a squeegee from a crafts store or a hardware store. You can use a hard card or a square wooden block wrapped with carpet as an alternative.
The surface should be even, free of dust and grease; untreated wood should be pre-treated with a base coat (sealing primer / acrylic base).
The detailed application instructions come together with your product. The best way is to remove only a part of the back paper, to position the sheet and then, using a squeegee, pressing the sheet from the centre of the sheet to the sides. If the sheet has been positioned incorrectly, it can be pulled off again and corrected. If there are bubbles, just prick it with a needle. They will be gone without trace.
Use wet application method as the window application method. Please request us to send the window film application instructions together.
You can try it using a hair drier to heat up the sheet and pull it into the rounded edges. You may need additional adhesive primer and some trial and error.
No recommended. Interior films are made for indoor use. It will only stand up to 3 years outdoors, depending on the weather conditions.
Yes. They are vinyl and have no problem with dampness. But avoid direct water if possible as adhesive power at edges may be affected.
Interior films use permanent self-adhesive and may leave residue when they are removed. Simply peel it off, starting at a corner. The film will be more easily removed in a heated state using a hair dryer. Any adhesive residue can be removed by a magic sponge or similar after soaking with soapy solution.
